BRYAN HOPKINS: FUNCTIONAL & DYSFUNTIONAL PORCELAIN

Workshop at Historic Yellow Springs

BRYAN HOPKINS: FUNCTIONAL & DYSFUNTIONAL PORCELAIN Level: All levels, Limit: 10 students Instructor: Bryan Hopkins Date: Saturday – Sunday, June 27 – 28 Time: 10am – 4pm each day Location: Chester Springs Studio Tuition: $195 Member, $215 Non-member (includes clay/supplies fee) Appeal to your modern sensibilities as you explore functional and dysfunctional porcelain forms with Bryan Hopkins. The juxtaposition of glazed and unglazed surfaces, industrial and natural textures creates visual tension and interesting relationships of light and shadow. Bryan demonstrates techniques in shaping porcelain through throwing, handbuilding, molds, carving and water etching. The workshop offers a balance of demonstration, hands-on experience and one-on-one attention. Bring in your pottery for a personal critique from Bryan Hopkins.
