Presidents’ Day Celebration
at the John Chads' House (Route 100)
Join us on this 9th year celebration! There will be many exhibits and special activities at the Visitors Center, free of charge. Younger visitors will enjoy the coloring station and the collection of Presidents and First Ladies paper dolls. Older visitors can be challenged by the Presidential quizzes or the “Name that US State” game. There will be refreshments, costumed interpreters, and beehive oven bread for sale.
Costumed guides will lead tours of the little stone mansion that survived the Battle of Brandywine and tell about its fascinating history. Don’t miss bread baking in the beehive oven in the cellar kitchen! The John Chads House is one of the Delaware County Historical Society’s Passport to History sites. Admission to the John Chads House is $5 for adults; members of the Chadds Ford Historical Society and children 12 and under are free.
