Family Films: The Bad News Bears

Join us throughout baseball season for a cinema series filled with baseball classics, documentaries, and family films that examine, commemorate, and celebrate America’s love of the game. About The Bad News Bears (USA, 1976, 102 minutes) Cantankerous Morris Buttermaker spends his time cleaning pools and pining for his days as a Minor League ballplayer. But when he agrees to coach a fledgling team, he finds himself overrun with talentless troublemakers. In a desperate (and hilarious) attempt to save face, Buttermaker enlists help from an ex-girlfriend’s daughter and a gifted delinquent. An example of Walter Matthau at his absolute best. More fun films for the whole family Second Sundays at 1:00 pm The Bad News Bears: April 13 and October 12 The Sandlot: May 11 and August 10 Rookie of the Year: June 8 and September 14
