Brandywine Valley Chorale & Valley Forge Chorale

Present Carmina Burana and Liebeslieder Waltzes, on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3.

The program features Carmina Burana, composed by 20th century, German composer Carl Orff. Known as Orff’s most famous choral work, it is based on poems from medieval texts, exploring the fickleness of fortune and wealth, the ephemeral nature of life, and the joy of the return of spring. Jason Throne, BVC’s Artistic Director will conduct.

As a complementary piece, Liebeslieder Waltzes, Johannes Brahms’ most endearing and popular composition for choir, will be conducted by Steve McBride, Artistic Director of VFC.

The performance on Friday May 2nd will take place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 428 S. Main Street North Wales. Saturday May 3rd’s concert will be performed at the Unionville High School Auditorium, 750 Unionville Road, Kennett Square, PA. Both concerts start at 7:30 p.m.
