The Secret Life of Native Bees

Did you know that there are about 250 species of native bees known to occur in Delaware? Unlike the non-native European honeybee, most native bees are solitary ground-nesters and are critically important pollinators of our native wildflowers. Wildlife biologist Matt Sarver discusses the life cycles and specific plant associations of bees documented in research he conducted at Mt. Cuba Center.
