Goldenrods: Fall’s Final Feast
Goldenrod fields, the villains in countless allergy-relief commercials, are a critically important ecosystem for millions of insects and birds. In fact, they provide the last chance for life-saving pollen and nectar before winter sets in. Using Mt. Cuba Center's meadow, naturalist Mike Weilbacher discusses the ecological interactions and natural histories of goldenrods and the associated pollinators that rely on them to survive.
