Basics of Plant Disease - Signs & Symptoms

A gardener’s primer on plant diseases

How can you tell if your plant is infected with a virus or simply needs more nitrogen? Find out from plant pathologist extraordinaire, Bob Mulrooney. Bob will review the incredible impact plant diseases have on our lives and our landscapes. Then, through the use of pictures and show-and-tell samples, he will encourage you to become your own plant disease detective. Bob will also discuss solutions to your plant disease issues and refer you to resources for further information. Robert Mulrooney recently retired from his position as the Extension Plant Pathologist at the University of Delaware. During his long 38-year career, Bob conducted educational programming in Plant Pathology and was in charge of the Diagnostic Clinic and Nematode Assay Service for most of those years. Bob has written numerous articles for newsletters, and has lectured extensively in the region.
