Wellness Saturday

Discover ways to reduce stress, improve your health, and open yourself up to new experiences by focusing on natural processes that enhance well-being. Begin the day with a gentle yoga session, then engage in a mindful meditation walk, and complete the experience with a focus on herbalism and natural approaches to being well. Yoga (Fahey) 8:30 – 9:30 am Engaging in yoga promotes relaxation and increased physical strength. Practice stretching techniques that can improve your flexibility, posture, spinal alignment and core body strength. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing. Moving Meditation (Meisel) 10 – 11 am Focus your mind and fine tune your sensory awareness as you feel the air, experience the impression of the land beneath your feet, take in floral fragrances, and hear distant bird calls in this one-hour contemplative walk. Natural Well-being (Coburn) 11:30 am – 12:30 pm Herbalism supports the well-being of body, mind, and spirit using plants as our allies. Learn the natural benefits of native herbs and herbal remedies and how they can provide us with holistic means to address day-to-day wellness concerns. Participants in any exercise program are encouraged to make sure exercise is approved by their physician. Wellness classes are presented for informational purposes only and are not intended for self-medication. Rain date for this event is Sunday, June 3, 2018.
