WOW! Amazing Beauty in Abandoned and Decaying
A Photography Workshop inside a former Lukens Mill
Instructor(s): Mark Bergkvist & Tony Cortada
Time: Saturday, September 16, 9:00AM - Noon
(also offered on Saturday, October 28, 9:00am-Noon)
Join us for this unique opportunity to photograph inside the Abandoned and Decaying rolling mill of the former Lukens Steel Company. Access to this facility is not open to the general public and is only available to you through this authorized limited opportunity. The facility started operation in 1793 and has seen many changes over the years. We will be exploring the “120in rolling steel mill” that was abandoned decades ago. Inside the 90,000 sq ft facility there are stored many pieces of the destroyed New York’s Twin Towers as well as some old machinery and locomotives. The decaying building itself provides many fantastic photographic opportunities for those with a creative eye. Release of liability required and all participants must wear a hard hat.
