Ballet 180 Presents Transformed
Dialogs through Dance
On Saturday, March 11 at 3:00 pm, Ballet 180 presents Transformed, a mixed repertory performance featuring two world premiere pieces by guest choreographers Colby Damon and SarahKim (SK) Vennard, as well as an original work from Ballet 180’s repertoire. The show will take place at Rosemont College’s Rotwitt Theater of the McShain Performing Arts Center. Inspired by the company’s mission to encourage positive change through dance, the show, featuring three emotionally compelling works, will take audiences on a journey of self-reflection and contemplate how introspection sparks change and transformation.
Colby Damon’s On the Islands in the Eastern Seas draws from the philosophical and spiritual writings of the Taoist sage Zhuang Zi. The piece explores the various experiences one undergoes while seeking the ultimate truth, and the potentials of reality contained therein. SK Vennard’s Assembly Required explores growth, development and connection of community – the individual contributions of a community coming together to make it stronger. Hybrid, an original ballet from Ballet 180’s repertoire, will move audience members to reflect upon the impact of technology in their own lives and inspire them to re-connect with the emotional world around them. This piece features an original score by local musician, Leonardo Le San.
