The weekly Farmers Market in Kennett Square, held Fridays in the Genesis Walkway, has become known for its slight twists in themes throughout its long season, and last Friday was its Apple Harvest celebration.

On State Street, Rex Farms Orchard, a family-owned fruit farm in Gardners, Pa., offered a variety of their own fresh apples, sweet apple cider, and hard cider. Along the Walkway, Megan Bushnell, chef and kitchen manager at Harvest Market Natural Foods in Hockessin, gave visitors a tasty treat with a “Make, Take and Bake” demonstration that gave home bakers various options for “DIY” apple crisp, including choices for Paleo, vegan and nut free.

Rex Farms Orchard and Harvest Market Natural Foods were two of the 21 vendors at the festival, many of whom offered apple-infused products for sale.

The Kennett Square Farmers Market is held from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Genesis Walkway (101 E. State St., Kennett Square. To receive a week-to-week list of vendors, visit https://historickennettsquare.com/events/kennett-square-farmers-market.
