Crossan Park graffiti removed by volunteers

08/20/2018 11:43AM ● By J. Chambless

A team of volunteers from the Franklin Sportsman Association cleaned up Crossan Park on Aug. 18.

A pavilion at Crossan Park in Franklin Township was recently vandalized with spray-painted graffiti, but on Aug. 18, members of the Franklin Sportsman Association stepped up to scrub away the paint.

Members of the group hunt on township property during the year, and in return, all members perform two service projects each year for the township. Township Board of Supervisors chairman John Auerbach said that the group saves the township between $6,000 and $7,000 each year because they perform tasks that would otherwise have to be paid for.

“This project is typical of what has been provided over the many years that the FSA has served the township,” Auerbach said. “All the members are dedicated stewards of the land, with a focus on the environment and conservation.”
