Mark Halloween with two West Chester events

10/23/2017 11:43AM ● By J. Chambless

West Chester’s new theater, Uptown! West Chester Performing Arts Center, is marking Halloween with two big events.

On Oct. 30 at 7 p.m., “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” will be screened. The longest-running theatrical release in film history, with an international cult following, is usually attended by audiences in costume. Costumes are optional, but the theater asks that no toast, water guns, umbrellas or other paraphernalia be brought. Tickets are $7 in advance.

On Oct. 31 at 8 p.m., rock out with Windish Music And Productions' Galactic Empire; A Star Wars Cosplay Band and wear your favorite “Star Wars” costume if you wish. The band released their debut album in February, featuring metal tributes to “Star Wars” songs such as "Duel of the Fates" and "The Imperial March." Just off their European tour, including England, France, Spain, Austria and Switzerland, the band features some of the most feared villains in the universe. Of their instruments, the band says they are “crude, but should be adequate to shred some faces as we journey across the galaxy.” Advance tickets are $25 for adults, $17 for students with ID. VIP tickets are $40, including front-row seats, a photo op meet and greet, and one free drink at the Uptown! Bar.

Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center is at 226 N. High St., West Chester. Tickets are available at uptownwestchester.org, at the box office, or by calling 610-356-2787.
