In a hard-fought contest, the Unionville Indians upped their early-season record to a perfect 3-0 with a 14-6 victory over a resilient Avon Grove squad, in a Ches-Mont game played Sept. 8 at Unionville.
Unionville got on the board first on quarterback Alex Gorgone's 11-yard scoring strike to JT Hower, and followed it up with its second score when Gorgone found Joe Zubillaga for a 21-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
Avon Grove’s only touchdown came on a 50-yard scoring run by quarterback Shane Wolford in the third quarter.
The Red Devils (0-3) travel to Octorara Area (2-1) this Friday night for a game against the Braves, while Unionville travels to met its crosstown rival Kennett on Friday (2-1) for a game under the lights at Kennett Stadium.
