Uncle Irvin: Not just Philadelphia and Wilmington

02/23/2016 03:53PM ● By Richard Gaw

Violent, heinous, barbaric criminal acts are not just a big-city problem, as southern Chester County found out when a Lower Oxford man attacked his mother and stabbed his grandmother to death.

State Police will be investigating the cause of this familicide (murdering your grandmother) for a long while. Moreover, it has been reported that the alleged murderer admitted himself to Brandywine Hospital recently and was discharged.

Uncle Irvin has written frequently about the increase in crime that can be expected when population grows and too many mills are spent on public schools, rather than on public safety. The community can reach out to the family and remember what happened in a rural township with no municipal police force -- not even a regional one!

(Uncle Irvin's column is his opinion only, and is not a news story.)
