Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced on Jan. 5 the hiring of Oscar Rosado as the newest member of the Chester County Detectives.

“Detective Rosado is a key addition to the Chester County Detectives,” Hogan said. “He is an experienced and accomplished investigator, having handled major drug, violent crime, and child abuse investigations. In addition, he is fluent in Spanish, an important tool in many investigations.”

Rosado was born in Puerto Rico. He previously was employed by the Kennett Square Borough Police Department. He worked extensively with the Chester County Detectives in Operation Telarana, a drug investigation that dismantled a Mexican drug trafficking organization that was run out of southern Chester County.

Rosado is also a trained forensic interviewer in child abuse cases. He previously played an important role in helping the District Attorney's office interact with the Latino community in Chester County, including working on events with the Maternal and Child Health Consortium and La Communidad Hispana.

Rosado will initially be assigned to the Child Abuse Unit. He will be available to work on violent crime investigations as well.

“It is my honor to be selected to join the Chester County Detectives,” Rosado said. “I will work hard every day to live up to the trust placed in me by District Attorney Hogan and the citizens of Chester County.”
