Chester County Art Association slates 2016 exhibition schedule

The Chester County Art Association has announced its 2016 schedule of exhibitions, both at the main galleries in West Chester, and at the Henry Gallery at Penn State Great Valley. Visit www.chestercountyart.org. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free.

Clean Slate

Jan. 15 to Feb. 4

Opening Reception: Jan. 14, 5 to 8 p.m.

CCAA invites artists to begin 2016 with a fresh approach to their artwork. The challenge is to try something new. There will be three excellence and three honorable mention awards awarded.

The Engineering of Art

In recognition of the new engineering lab of Penn State’s Great Valley campus (Malvern), PSGV is hosting a show of artwork by Chester County Art Association member artists whose approach to design is in many ways inspired by engineering. Visit The Henry Gallery, 30 East Swedesford Road, Main Bldg. (right) 2nd floor to view the exhibit. Open Monday to Friday, 9a.m. To 5 p.m.

In the Pink

Feb. 12 to March 10

Opening Reception: Feb. 11, 5 to 8 p.m.

Pink is a powerful color, especially when it shows up in artwork. CCAA wants to showcase the many ways in which the color pink can be moving, inspiring or provoking in the exhibition. The juror will jury the show and select three excellence and three honorable mention awards.

Art Is a Gas!

May 13 to June 9

​Opening Reception: May 12, 5 to 8 p.m.

Artists are expected to visit the Chester County Historical Society exhibition, “The Sixties! The Age of Aquarius in Chester County” and create artwork inspired by the exhibition. The exhibit runs 11/10/15 – 8/27/16.
