If you are looking for a festive concert to get you in the holiday spirit, the West Chester Band will be performing their annual Holiday Concert on Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of West Chester (129 S. High St.).

"There's nothing like a good holiday tune to raise your spirits and put a smile on your face," said West Chester Band director Joseph Gehring, who has been conducting the band for 12 years. "The West Chester Band is a great group of musicians from all over the county who volunteer their time and talent to bring music to our community. Several of our players have been with the band since its inception in 1986."

The band will perform with the Chancel Choir of the Methodist Church, directed by Mike Muzzo. "The concert is always a nice mixture of instrumental and vocal music," said Adrian Smith, who plays the flute with the band and serves as president of the West Chester Band’s board. "The church is a beautiful backdrop for the holiday program, and we are always excited to perform there."

Holiday favorites both old and new will be performed, ending with a joyful carol sing-along. Tickets are available at the door ($10 for general admission, $7 for seniors/students, and free for children under 6). Find out more at www.wcband.org.
