New Garden Township Police announced on Oct. 15 that they had arrested a Cochranville man in connection with the disappearance of a 15-year-old Avondale girl.

Police said that at 9:55 a.m., an investigator with the New Garden Township Police Department, assisted by other law enforcement officers, found Wanda Mitchell Henriquez-Molina, who had been missing from her home for the past eight days. Police also found and arrested Walter Morales-Lopez, 29, for an outstanding criminal warrant. He will likely face felony charges in connection with the missing-persons case.

Henriquez-Molina was not injured. Morales-Lopez is in custody, awaiting more charges.

On Oct. 13, police had issued an alert that the girl had run away with Morales-Lopez and they were believed to be in the Chester County or Lancaster County areas.
