Kennett Square was recently named one of “The 10 Most Beautiful Towns in Pennsylvania” on culturetrip.com. Over the years, Kennett Square was also voted as one of the "Coolest Towns in America.” It is on the list as one of Greater Philadelphia's Classic Towns. 

Say the name Kennett Square to just about anyone near and far and they will answer, “It's the Mushroom Capital of the World!”  Then there's Longwood Gardens, with a Kennett Square address. The Mushroom Festival, the Cinco de Mayo Festival, Midnight in the Square/Mushroom Drop, the Memorial Day Parade and the Kennett Run are all events synonymous with Kennett Square.

What makes this small corner of a rather large state, in a rather large country, garner so much attention? Well, as the sign says in The Mushroom Cap, “It's a KSQ Thing.” That thing is illustrated here.
