Each year Emerson College holds an Academy-Awards-style awards show known as the EVVY Awards. At this year's 34th annual event, local filmmaker Kurtis Theorin hopes to win not just one but two awards.

Theorin - one of three brothers (Kris, Nik) involved in Something's Awry Productions along with their mother, Amy - was nominated for Outstanding Cinematic Achievement (Alien Communications) and Best Single Camera Direction (GUMBALL). He competes against three others in each category.

Kurtis is a writer, director and voice actor.
