Patton robotics team takes first place

The Super Starbots robotics team at the Patton Middle School participated in the Oxford FLL regional competition on Jan. 3, and captured two first-place awards.

The team won first place for the Core Values award, and first place for the Robot Performance award given to the team with the highest single robot mission. They scored 365 points and have qualified to advance to the Champion's Tournament scheduled Feb. 14 at Delaware State University.

The team met twice a week since September to prepare for the tournament. The Super Starbots are:

Kyle Ketterer, Soumil Zachariah, Nathan Sugimoto, Ayrton Gilbert, and Brady Sherman from Charles F. Patton Middle School; and Katie Ketterer from Unionville Elementary School.
