Oxford woman killed while walking on I-95 in Delaware

Delaware State Police have reported that Laura Grant, 37, of Oxford, was struck and killed while walking on I-95 in Delaware on Saturday night.

Police said Grant was found on the roadway about 7:20 p.m. near the Route 1 interchange. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation states that Newark resident Hyunjun Koo was driving south on I-95 in the left lane, south of the Delaware 1/Exit 4A ramp. Grant was in the southbound lanes when she was hit by Koo's car. Another driver, Timothy N. Hoxter, 62, of Newark, was behind Koo's car in the left center lane, saw something in the road and was unable to avoid hitting Grant.

Both drivers were not hurt, according to police. Traffic at the scene was delayed for about three hours while the investigaion was completed, police said. The incident remains under investigation.
