12 Regional Holiday Light Shows to Enjoy in 2014

This year, we highlight some of the coolest light shows, parades and events in the area for you and yours to experience. Here are 12 picks, and bonus content at the end.
Individual tickets can be purchased upon arrival. Open first Saturday in November through Thanksgiving, Friday, 6 - 9 p.m., Saturday, 5:30 - 9:30 p.m., Sunday, 5:30 - 9 p.m., then Thanksgiving through Jan. 3, Monday - Friday, 6 - 9 p.m., Saturday, 5 - 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, 5 - 9 p.m. Children 3 and under are free, 4-10 are $7, 11-64 are $9, and seniors (65+) are $8. Payments accepted include cash, Visa, Mastercard and Discover.

Experience the magic of more than 3 million lights illuminating acres of farmland at the Shady Brook Farm 2014 Holiday Light Show. Open every night now through Jan. 4, 5 to 10 p.m. Some things you can do, according to the website:
- Encounter whimsical holiday displays and familiar characters.
- Drive through in the comfort of your own car or enjoy the show on an open air wagon ride (weather permitting).
- Warm up with a cup of hot cocoa and and cook up some s’mores at a toasty bonfire (cocoa, marshmallows, and more treats available for purchase in the Farm Market).
- Santa is in the house! Visit and take photos with the Big Man in our greenhouse. Click HERE for photo packages. Santa Hours: Mon. – Thurs. 5 to 9 pm, Fri. 5 to 10 pm, Sat. noon to 10 pm, Sun. noon to 9 pm.
Peddler's Village, Routes 202 & 263, Lahaska, PA.
Christmas Central takes over each year starting in November. Now through Christmas Eve, stop by Peddler's Village for holiday lights and special events. Santa is in the village every weekend starting at noon, and on Wednesdays starting at 5 p.m.
The outdoor light display at Longwood Gardens is open daily through Jan. 11, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. From its website: "From trees adorned with nests and feathered friends, to topiary swans in our Exhibition Hall, to birdhouses, owls, and bald eagles decorating our tree houses, this holiday season flies high. Our Music Room depicts a festive Peacock Masquerade Ball, featuring elegant table settings and an 18-foot rotating tree. Stroll outside where colorful fountains dance, glimmering snowflakes hang overhead, and a half- million lights illuminate more of our outdoor gardens than ever before."

Christmas Around the Farm is an annual spectacular, featuring the renowned Christmasland display. Fun for the family, the farm features a 40-foot Elf (Santa’s giant helper) overlooking the Christmas tree yard, the giant Jack in the box greeting every visitor, and the Barnyard animals decked out in their winter coats. Generally, the farm is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
