Patriot's Day at Brandywine Battlefield

The Brandywine Battlefield is planning numerous activities for its Patriot's Day event on Saturday, Nov. 29.

Members of the 1st Delaware, 2nd Pennsylvania, 5th Pennsylvania, 9th Pennsylvania regiments will be on hand. There will be musket firing demonstrations and drills by soldiers. Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. there will be a talk and Q&A with General George Washington, as portrayed by Carl Closs.

The Brandywine Battlefield's director of education, Andrew Outten, will present a lecture "Understanding the Battle of Brandywine."

There will be demonstrations by blacksmiths, carpenters, and gunsmiths. A Chester County Militia recruiter will be on hand. There will be plenty of children's activities as well as ongoing tours of Washington's headquarters and the exterior property of the Gilpin Houe, and much more.

The hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The prices for tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for children.
