West Grove set to name interim police chief

11/06/2014 12:30AM ● By Lev

West Grove Borough is expected to introduce Michael P. King as the interim police chief during the council meeting on Wednesday night.

King has significant law enforcement experience, having retired from the Pennsylvania State Police in 2013 after 25 years of service. He has also been working part-time in the New Garden Township Police Department.

West Grove Borough Manager Sharon Nesbitt said in a statement that King's enthusiasm for community policing philosophies will make him a good fit for the Borough of West Grove.

“We are excited about this change in direction for our police department,” Nesbitt said. “The mayor and borough council believe that our residents will be pleased with our selection.”

King will begin administrative duties immediately and will start uniformed duties sometime in December.

King is replacing former police chief Errol Galloway, who retired in September after more than 26 years in that role.

The council meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. For more information about West Grove Borough, visit the town's Facebook page or website at www.westgroveborough.org.
