Penn Township and Jennersville Regional Hospital had a picture-perfect day on Sept. 27 for the eagerly anticipated Community Picnic and Health & Wellness Fair. And once again, the entire event – barbecue lunch with side dishes, entertainment, medical screenings and giveaways -- was all free.

Karen Versuk, public relations officer for the township, estimated the attendance at slightly more than 3,000 people. “The crowd seemed to be more staggered than in some years,” she said. “It was just a nice, steady flow of people.”

"McCormick Taylor signed on as our first-ever platinum sponsor,” Versuk said. “Plus, all our other sponsors were very generous. We actually brought in a little bit more in donations this year than last."

Versuk was happy for all the help from volunteers. “The TCHS [Technical College High School] group was an especially huge help to us this year," she said. "They were here at eight in the morning and were willing to do any job I gave them.”
