A day for dogs at Oxford Feed & Lumber

10/01/2014 04:55PM ● By Lev

Last weekend's Whisker Walk brought out a large crowd of dogs and owners of every size, shape and age.
As always, the event benefited local pet rescues. Several rescue groups, including Delaware Humane, All Mutts Matter Foundation, and Wheezer’s Animal Rescue, had adoptable dogs at the walk.  One dog, Russell (from the foster-based rescue, All Mutts Matter), met Becky, who will hopefully be his new owner. The Pug-Pomeranian mix will first be fostered by Becky in her Lincoln University home to be certain that Russell and her two children, ages 10 and 13, get along.

After the leisurely one-mile stroll around Oxford, dogs and their owners returned to Oxford Feed & Lumber for goodie bags, doggie frozen yogurt, costume classes, a demonstration by K9 officer JD and his arson detecting dog Leo, and the agility course.
