The Kennett Flash in Kennett Square is presenting a “Sip and Savor with the Serafins” concert series on Wednesday evenings beginning on Sept. 24

The one-hour themed concerts each explore one major work, the composer's influence, style and characteristic flavor, while also sharing examples from other works and commentary from members of the quartet.

The series opens on Sept. 24 with “French Connection” featuring the Debussy Quartet in G Minor, with samples from composers Grieg and Janacek. On Nov. 5, the quartet presents “Nordic Journey” offering a tour of the work of Norway’s most celebrated composer, Edvard Grieg.  The final concert on Dec. 3, titled “Viennese Classical Roots,” features the Mozart Quartet in D Minor with samples from Haydn and Beethoven.
“Kennett Flash is a perfect venue for these more laid-back and engaging listening experiences," said Serafin violinist Lisa Vaupel. "Concertgoers can bring their own bottle of wine, order a bite to eat, and 'sip and savor' some refreshment as they enjoy the music program."
The schedule is:
Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m.: “French Connection”
Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m.: “Nordic Journey”
Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m.: “Viennese Classical Roots”
The Kennett Flash is at 102 Sycamore Alley, Kennett Square. Tickets are $15 in advance, and $18 at the door. Visit www.kennettflash.org.
