The British Forces Polo Team will compete against The Brandywine Polo Club team on Sept. 14  on the grounds at 232 Polo Road in Toughkenamon.

The day’s activities include a local British Car Clubs vehicle display at 1:30 p.m., food and beverage vendors from 1:30 to 6 p.m., local business displays all day, pre-match activities, and music and activities following the match.

The match between The British Forces Team and The Brandywine Polo Team is scheduled at 3 p.m., followed by the award ceremony.  Music will begin at the end of the ceremony, and vendors will be open until 6 p.m.  Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs and are welcome to pack a picnic.

“Anglophiles and particularly those that love the sport of polo will enjoy this day of competition and camaraderie,” said Nicholas Place, Brandywine Polo Club board member.  “And people who have never had the opportunity to see a polo match in person will find this to be an exciting introduction.”

The British Forces Polo Team is made up of current and retired members of the British Military, including The Queen’s Royal Lancers, The King’s Royal Hussars and The Rifles infantry regiment. The members of this team have played worldwide.

Ticket cost is $10 per person.  A portion of the proceeds will support the Semper Fi Fund, which provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post-9/11 wounded, critically ill and injured members, and their families of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.  Tickets can be purchased at www.brandywinepolo.com or at the gate.
