Chester County’s website, www.chesco.org, received top state-wide honors last week, with the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP) naming it a winner in its 2014 Excellence in Website Awards. The award, for website in first-to-third class counties, was presented to Chester County at the CCAP annual conference in Lancaster last week.

In presenting the award, CCAP’s first vice president, Craig Lehman, noted the website design, its up-to-date content and user-friendly navigation as some of the reasons for the award.

Chester County commissioner Terence Farrell said, “Since the website redesign a few years ago, we have worked to improve and enhance the content and features of Chesco.org – updating the site daily, and continually expanding and adding new features that simplify processes and save users time and effort.”

“County employees within many of our departments work with our communications team to keep information topical and relevant,” said commissioner Kathi Cozzone. “It’s great to see their efforts rewarded with this accolade.”

Chester County’s website receives more than 125,000 site visits every month and provides information on all County services – from health services and details of parks and trails, to how and where to vote, what to do if you’re called for jury duty, online payment options and emergency services information.

Chester County’s mobile app, ChescoConnect, was launched this year and supports the county’s main website with information formatted for hand-held devices.
