The 10th Annual Penn Township/Jennersville Regional Hospital Community Picnic and Health and Wellness Fair will be held on Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Penn Township Park (260 Lewis Rd., West Grove). The park is next to the Jennersville Regional Hospital.

The picnic has become a must-visit event, drawing some 4,000 visitors each year to enjoy free barbeque and live entertainment. The picnic was started jointly by the Penn Township supervisors and the Jennersville Regional Hospital. It is funded by private donations from sponsors.

This year’s picnic brings back Jesse Garron’s Live Elvis Tribute, as well as Philadelphia’s own Coast 2 Coast Motown Tribute band. The Philadelphia Union Mobile Tour will bring its traveling soccer field, Jungle John will present his balloon and reptile shows for kids, and the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders will meet visitors.

Jennersville Regional Hospital will provide free health and wellness screenings, and there will be hospital tours and door prizes. Area non-profits and services -- such as the Pennsylvania State Police at Avondale, Chester County Sheriff’s Department, Medic 94 and West Grove Fire and Ambulance – will be on hand with information for the public.
