Chester County SCORE will kick off “How to Succeed as a Latino Entrepreneur," an eight-week bilingual program offered by the Kutztown University Latino Business Resource Center, on Sept. 16.

The series is presented in partnership with La Comunidad Hispana, National Penn Bank, and the Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce.

The free kickoff event will begin at 6 p.m. at La Comunidad Hispana (731 W. Cypress St., Kennett Square). Participants will learn about the course and be able to register for the entire eight-week series. Seminar sessions will be held Thursdays, Sept. 27 through Nov. 11, 2014, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at La Comunidad Hispana. Total tuition for the course is $50. The covered subjects include business planning, marketing, financial models, bank products, insurance, and legal and zoning regulations.

Horace Scherer, project coordinator for SCORE and bilingual business counselor, has worked with the sponsoring partners to promote the event.

"We are very excited to offer this valuable program to the Hispanic residents in the Kennett Square area. We know that many residents have started new businesses, or are considering taking that step. This program is designed to offer helpful guidance for new business owners" Scherer said.
