Friends Meetinghouse 175th
The Homeville Friends Meetinghouse (4904 Homeville Rd., Cochranville) will mark its 175th year with a community celebration on Aug. 24. There will be harp music by Janet Witman at 1 p.m., a meeting for worship at 2 p.m., and a presentation by Chris Densmore, the curator of the Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore, at 2:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Nottingham Presbyterian Church in Nottingham is holding its annual family fun day and craft fair on Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Herr's Snack Factory parking lot (routes 1 and 272), and is looking for exhibitors. A silent auction will be held to benefit Heart of Hope in West Grove, whose mission is to help families facing the challenges of pediatric heart transplants. A booth space is $20 ($30 for a double). 'Zumbathon' for charity
Grove United Methodist Church (490 W. Boot Rd., West Chester) and HomeAID for Africa host a "Zumbathon" to raise funds for orphans in Africa on Sept. 27. Beginning at 3 p.m., participants can come for 90 minutes of tag-team Zumba led by a variety of area Zumba instructors.
