Chester County Chamber endorses Lawrence

The Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry announced their endorsement this week of John Lawrence for the 13th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives seat.

The seat, which Lawrence currently holds, encompasses Atglen, East Fallowfield_Township, East Nottingham Township, Elk Township, Franklin Township, Highland Township, London Grove Township, Londonderry Township, Lower Oxford Township, Modena, New London Township, Oxford, Parkesburg, Penn Township, Sadsbury Township, South Coatesville, Upper Oxford Township, West Fallowfield Township, West Grove, West Nottingham Township, and West Sadsbury Township.

After a review process, interviews with candidates and/or research on business issues and positions of the various candidates, the Chester County Board of Directors met at their June meeting to make a final consideration for endorsement, and they unanimously chose Lawrence.

“Rep. Lawrence has proven himself as a leader and someone who understands the needs of Chester County residents, taxpayers, and employers, said Guy Ciarrocchi, chamber president and CEO. “The chamber is confident that he is the right person to continue representing us in Harrisburg.”

“I'm honored and humbled to receive the chamber's endorsement for State Representative. The chamber is a true advocate for job creators in our area, and I look forward to working with the chamber in the days ahead to make Chester County an even better place to live, work, and raise a family,” Lawrence said.

Lawrence is running in the General Election on Nov. 4.

The chamber also announced their endorsement of Steve Barrar for the 160th Pennsylvania House of Representatives District seat. The seat, which Barrar currently holds, encompasses Birmingham Township, Pocopson Township, and Thornbury Township in Chester County, and parts of Aston Township and Upper Chichester Township in Delaware County, along with Bethel Township, Chadds Ford Township, Chester Heights, and Concord Township, also in Delaware County.

“We are pleased with the endorsement of Representative Barrar because of his working knowledge of the business community and the ways to improve the our region,” Ciarrocchi said.

“I am proud to have received the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry endorsement for my re-election this year,” Barrar said. “This endorsement is a result of my record of standing with the business community to do what is needed to improve our economy and encourage businesses in our area to create family-sustaining jobs. I look forward to working on these important issues and continuing this relationship into the next legislative session.”
