DRUG CHARGES

Kennett Square police arrested Charles Navarro, 36, of Coatesville, on June 14 at 12:25 a.m. after a pursuit that ended at Mill and Wollaston roads. Navarro was charged with fleeing police, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, resisting arrest, tampering with evidence and traffic offenses. Unable to post bail of $25,000 cash, he was taken to Chester County Prison.

BURGLARY

A home at 106 Winston Way in Oxford was burglarized sometime between June 28 and July 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Several items, including jewelry and electronics, were stolen.

CARS BURGLARIZED

Overnight on June 7, a laptop computer, several charging cords and four pocket knives were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 800 block of Park Avenue, according to Kennett Square police.

Overnight on July 18, several items were stolen from a car parked at 16 Ledum Run Road in Penn Township. The car was entered through an open rear window, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS

Kennett Square police cited Jayne Haverkamp, 57, of Kennett Square, for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after she was found lying in the roadway at South Walnut and Juniper streets on June 8 at 10:13 p.m.

ASSAULT ARREST

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Christopher David Hill, 33, of Elkton, Md., for assaulting a 30-year-old Elkton woman on July 13. Police were called to Graves Road near the railroad tracks in East Nottingham Township at midnight for a report of a man beating a woman. Hill was charged at the scene.

FORGED PRESCRIPTION

LEADS TO ARREST

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale responded to the CVS Pharmacy at 870 E. Baltimore Pike on July 18 for a report of a forged prescription. Police found a 28-year-old West Chester man trying to pick up the drugs at the drive-through window. He was taken into custody after marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.

THEFT ARREST

Kennett Square police arrested Jason Miller, 37, of Coatesville, on June 18 at 11:20 a.m. He was charged with theft and receiving stolen property. Police said that while in a home in the 500 block Center Street between 9:15 and 10:15 a.m. to replace a fire extinguisher, Miller stole a Bose SoundDock. He was arraigned and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

DUI AND FLEEING POLICE

Kennett Square police arrested Pavlo Tabak, 24, of Kennett Square, for fleeing police, DUI and traffic offenses. On June 11, just before 1 p.m., police responded to a report that a car had struck a parking abutment and run over a flower pot in a parking lot at 400 W. Cypress St. After a short pursuit, Tabak was arrested at Meredith and Magnolia streets. He was arraigned and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

DRUG CHARGES

Eddie Milam, 53, of Oxford, was arrested by Kennett Square police on June 11 after police responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of East South Street. Milam was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a summons from district court.

Kennett Square police arrested Armando Camacho-Lopez, 19, of Kennett Square, for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after he was seen walking in the area of Lafayett Street and Scarlett Avenue on June 21 with a marijuana cigarette held behind his ear. He was released pending a summons from district court.

DUI

Kyle Joseph Blazic, of Chadds Ford, was arrested for DUI after a traffic stop on June 27 at 3:10 a.m. on Route 202 in Tredyffrin Township, according to police.

Kennett Square police arrested Clemente Ortiz, 50, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a traffic stop at West State Street and South Mill Road on June 14. He was released at his home pending a summons from district court.

On July 8 at 11 p.m., New Garden police stopped a vehicle on Baltimore Pike for an equipment violation and found that the driver, Miguel Martinez-Zavala, 30, of Kennett Square, showed signs of intoxication. He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and released pending a court appearance.

New Garden police arrested George DeRitter III, 21, of Landenberg, after a car he was driving sideswiped an oncoming car on July 11 at Gap Newpoart Pike and Limestone Road. DeRitter tested positive for alcohol and he showed signs of impairment. He was released pending a court appearance.

Kennett Square police arrested Gabriel Zavala-Zavala, 50, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a traffic stop at State and Broad streets on June 19 at 8:56 p.m. He was released at his home pending a summons from district court.

Kennett Square police arrested Turner Simon, 21, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a traffic stop on June 21 at 3:40 a.m. in the 300 block of West Mulberry Street. He was released at his home pending a summons from district court.
