PECO is investing nearly $6 million to enhance the local electric distribution system in southern Chester County. PECO will upgrade and expand equipment and systems in Elk Township, and East and West Nottingham townships. 

As part of the project, PECO will upgrade seven miles along an existing 34-kilovolt (kV) distribution line and extend the line by one mile. The company also will install 90 new distribution transformers and 200 new PECO poles.

Work will begin on Christine Road at Stoney Lane in West Nottingham Township and continue to Barnsley Chrome Road in East Nottingham Township. This work will continue into Elk Township along Chrome New London Road (which becomes State Road) to Lewisville Road (Route 472).

Work will begin in early July and continue into the spring of 2015. In addition to the construction and replacement of electrical equipment, tree trimming will be performed along the route as needed.
