CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

On June 15 just after midnight, New Garden police were called to the 200 block of Line Road for a report of criminal mischief in progress. A homeowner told police that two people were throwing objects at his house. Police found Eli Rodriguez, 27, of Kennett Square, and a male juvenile in front of a neighboring home. They told police they were involved in an argument with a family member that had  started on Facebook. Rodriguez was released after being told he would be cited for disorderly conduct. The juvenile was also told that he would be cited, and was released to his mother.

ATTEMPTED THEFT

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale reported that a 92-year-old London Britain Township man was the victim of an attempted robbery on June 24 at 1 p.m. Police say that three men came to the door offering to seal the driveway for free. They told the victim that they were working for the township and had extra supplies to use up. While the homeowner was at the front door, one of the men entered the victim's garage and tried to remove a safe. Anyone with information is asked to call trooper Mantione at 610-268-2022.

THEFTS FROM CARS

Three unlocked cars were targeted by thieves overnight on June 6, according to Kennett Square police. Tools, a flashlight and a toiletry bag were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 800 block of Park Avenue. Stolen from two other unlocked cars in the 400 block of Chestnut Street were a portable DVD player, a GPS unit and several chargers for electronics.  

CASH STOLEN FROM WALLET

A wallet that had been left atop a fence post in the 800 block of Park Avenue in Kennett Square on June 4 between noon and 5 p.m. was emptied of $2,300 in cash, according to a report from Kennett Square police. The emptied wallet was found at the rear of the property. 

PURSE STOLEN

A 46-year-old woman reported that her purse was snatched by an unknown man in the area of Ellicott Road, south of Garden Station Road, in London Grove Township on June 20. She told police that the man took money and a cell phone from the purse and then dropped the bag, before fleeing across a field into the woods. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-268-2022.

DUI

On June 13, New Garden Police pulled over a vehicle on Gap Newport Pike for a lighting violation and found that the rear seat passenger, Michael Connor, 19, of Coatesville, had been drinking. He was cited for underage drinking. The driver had a suspended license and no other passengers were capable of driving, so the vehicle was towed.

New Garden Township police pulled over a driver who was speeding and driving erratically on June 14 just after midnight in Toughkenamon. The driver, Jose Sanchez-Almaguer, 27, of Kennett Square, failed sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DUI. He was released pending a court appearance.

Kennett Square police arrested Garry Neyman, 49, of Landenberg, for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic offenses after a traffic stop on June 7 at South Broad and East Mulberry streets.

Kennett Square police arrested Rene Morales-Corea, 30, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a traffic stop on June 6 in the 500 block of East South Street. He was released pending a summons from District Court.

Scott Depalma Slesinski, 23, of Kennett Square, was arrested for DUI on June 21 after a traffic stop by Pennsylvania State Police Avondale on Route 926.

James Bryan Fetzer, 41, of Camden, Del., was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, drug possession and eight traffic violations after he parked his van in the southbound lane of Flint Hill Road on June 17 at 1:13 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale.
