Not Your Average Joe's CEO Steve Silverstein cuts the ribbon alongside Chadds Ford Township chairman of the board Keith Klaver, as general manager Merrill Becht and 2014 Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce president Joe Waters look on.

The Not Your Average Joe's restaurant chain opened its first location in Pennsylvania at the Glen Eagle Square Shopping Center on June 23.

The opening was commemorated by a ribbon-cutting ceremony that included several community leaders: Keith Klaver, chairman of the board for Chadds Ford Township; Joe Waters, president of the Southern Chester Chamber of Commerce; and members from State Representative Stephen E. Barrar’s office, among others.

During the ceremony, Not Your Average Joe’s CEO and founder, Steve Silverstein, presented a check for $10,000 to the grand-opening community partner, the West Chester Food Cupboard, which provides area families in need with a variety of food and personal care items. The funds, which were raised during two pre-opening parties, marked the largest opening donation in the restaurant’s history.

Not Your Average Joe's is based in New England and is marking its 20th year. The Glen Mills location is also the company's 20 restaurant.
