Oxford Area High School honors distinguished alumni

Oxford Area High School held its eighth annual Distinguished Alumni Honors Ceremony on May 30, continuing the program established in 2006 to ensure that the lives and achievements of Oxford’s most accomplished graduates will be forever known among fellow graduates, current and future high school students, and the Oxford community.

The Distinguished Alumni Class of 2014 includes David M. White, Class of 1960, who taught and coached with distinction in the Baltimore City Schools for 44 years; James D. McLeod, Class of 1969, a businessman and community leader with more than 40 years of volunteer service to Oxford; and Martin Sumner, Class of 1992, who has had a successful career in international business and finance and is currently a managing director of the Carlyle Group, a leading private equity firm based in Washington D.C.
