Oxford Area High School named Brianne Roper as Valedictorian and Erin Reph as Salutatorian of the Class of 2014. Commencement ceremonies for approximately 286 seniors will be held on Friday, June 6 at 7 p.m.

Brianne, daughter of Audrey and Chip Roper, is treasurer of the high school’s chapter of National Honor Society and historian of the Spanish Honor Society. This summer Brianne and classmates Jackie DiGiacomo and Hannah McComsey will attend the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee after their project placed first in the Public Service Announcement competition at the 2014 Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference.

Brianne teaches fifth and sixth grade Sunday school at Living Faith Community Church in West Grove and has been on five church missions to the village of Puebla, Mexico in the past three years. For one week each January, the mission group members volunteer at an orphanage where they celebrate the extended Christmas holiday with the 50 resident children. A week-long summer mission helps to turn the village’s contaminated water into a clean and sanitary water system.

After graduation, Brianne will attend Messiah College in Mechanicsburg to study for a degree in engineering.

Erin, daughter of Kristin and Michael Reph, was named a 2014 Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program. She is a member of National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society, singing in the senior chorus and choral ensemble.

Erin is a member of Future Business Leaders of America and volunteered in the G.O.L.D. girls’ mentoring program. In her senior year she was enrolled in AP courses in English, U.S. history, calculus and computer science.

After graduation Erin will study chemistry at Bucknell University.
