Neighbors help family displaced by house fire

05/27/2014 03:47PM, Published by ACL, Categories: In Print

A March house fire claimed the home and all the possessions of Dave and Dianne Swenson and their family in Penn Township, and neighbors are coming together to help the couple get back on their feet.

There were two separate fires in the Swenson home on March 5, resulting in the total loss of the structure and contents. On May 31 from 6 to 10 p.m., there is a fundraiser called “Out of the Ashes” at Nonantum Farm (47 Good Hope Rd., Landenberg). Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Tickets include beer and soda, food, live music and dancing. There will be a silent auction and raffle as well.

Tickets are available at the Penn Township Building (260 Lewis Rd., West Grove) and Penn Brew Station (West Baltimore Pike, West Grove). Donations may also be made to any Fulton Bank branch for the benefit of the Swensons Recovery Fund, or online at www.giveforward.com.

For more information, or to help, call Jenette Boyle at 717-823-3676 or e-mail linemanswife1238@gmail.com.
