Pa. state senators send letter to Corbett about medical cannabis

05/14/2014 12:54PM ● By Acl

Letter to the Editor:

We wanted you to know of our gratitude at your willingness to engage in a meaningful dialogue to ensure that Pennsylvania will address the needless suffering of so many of our citizens due to the lack of access to medical cannabis in the Commonwealth. We appreciate that you took the time to meet with the Brann and Knecht families yesterday.

This struggle is urgent and complex. Tragically, medical emergencies are part of daily life for patients and their families across Pennsylvania. They need immediate help. By working together, we can develop a proposal to ensure that all Pennsylvanians who suffer from the wide range of illnesses treated by medical cannabis will get the medicine they need.

We would like to meet with you and your staff next week to craft legislation that can quickly move through both chambers and reach your desk. We are available at your convenience for a meeting and look forward to working with you to advance this much needed initiative for the citizens of Pennsylvania.

Senator Daylin Leach, 17th Senatorial District
