The Brandywine River Museum (Route 1, Chadds Ford) presents "A Date With Art: The Business of Illustrated Calendars," featuring original works by Maxfield Parrish and Norman Rockwell, through May 18. Also on view through May 18 is "N.C. Wyeth's America in the Making," featuring images of inspirational and patriotic events by the renowned illustrator, including props from his Chadds Ford studio. Timlyn Vaughan solo show

The Chester County Art Association (100 N. Bradford Ave., West Chester) will hold an opening reception for Timlyn Vaughan’s solo exhibit on May 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. This show will run through May 22. Vaughan is a photographer whose works feature cityscapes, landscapes, and familiar buildings of Chester County and beyond. Admission is free. 'American and European Masters'

The Somerville Manning Gallery (101 Stone Block Row, Greenville, Del.) presents "American and European Masters: Art of the 19th-21st Centuries" through May 31. The show features original works by Alexander Calder, David Hockney, Georgia O'Keefe, Pablo Picasso, Frederic Remington, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, John Singer Sargent, the Wyeth family and others. The Oxford Arts Alliance (38 S. Third St., Oxford) hosts a Bats, Birds and Butterfly Houses Silent Auction on May 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. The houses have been decorated by regional artists.
