Abject parental failure!

How long will it take for parents to understand the many pitfalls of social media with regards to their children? This is particularly true for games like the so-called “Assassin Game” that caused a turmoil at Unionville High School in March.

This game is designed for players to "eliminate" each other using mock weapons. Modern parents -- unlike my generation and the generation before -- have lost touch with the nature of our society, where morals have disappeared and anything goes with their children. Alcohol and drugs are only the tip of the iceberg that infects young people in today's world.

Many parents today don't have a clue what their children are up to and, sadly, many parents just don't care. Schools can only go so far in guiding their students to what is right and wrong. The school's job begins at 8 a.m. and stops at 3 p.m., and then it's up to the parents to take over. And too many parents don't know or don't care what “Seymour” and “Heidi” are up to.

These neglectful parents will undoubtedly reap what they sow, to the detriment of our society and cause others to go down with them.
