THREATS AND HARASSMENT

New Garden Township police arrested Jose Morales, 42, of Toughkenamon, on March 29 after an incident on March 28 at 10:48 p.m., when he threatened to kill his wife if she didn't give him some money. The couple's children were present at the time. His wife gave Morales $40, took the children and fled the home. When she tried to drive away, Morales pulled on the locked car door handle, breaking it off. He was arrested the following day, arraigned and taken to Chester County Prison in lieur of $15,000 bail on charges of making terroristic threats and harassment.

THEFT FROM CAR

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale said a purse with several credit cards inside was stolen from a car parked on London Tract Road in London Grove Township on April 3, just after 3 p.m. The rear passenger-side window was broken to gain access to the locked car.

STEREO STOLEN

Kennett Square police said a car stereo was stolen from a car parked in the 700 block of South Washington Street overnight on March 19.

DRUG ARREST

Kennett Square police arrested Luis Carrillo-Avalos, 18, of Kennett Square, on March 19 in the 500 block of South Union Street. He was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop. He was released pending a summons from District Court.

DOG RUNNING LOOSE

Kennett Square police cited Betty Brown, 51, of Center Street in Kennett Square, after her dog was seen running loose in the 500 block of Center Street on March 21 at noon, chasing people and other dogs.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Timothy Johnson, 20, of West Grove, was cited for disorderly conduct and harassment in connection with a fight that occurred in the 500 block of South Union Street in Kennett Square on March 22.

DUI

New Garden Township police arrested Newell Everett, 55, of New Holland, on March 28 just after midnight after the car he was driving drifted into the oncoming lane of Gap Newport Pike. He admitted that he had been drinking and tested positive for DUI. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

Kennett Square police arrested Pedro Avila-Lopez, 56, of Kennett Square, for DUI after a traffic stop in the 500 block of West State Street on March 22. He was released pending a summons from District Court.

New Garden Township police arrested Francisco Zavala-Cortes, 22, of Kennett Square, on March 28 at 2:16 a.m. when he was pulled over for speeding at West Baltimore Pike and Buena Vista Drive. He was charged with DUI, processed and released pending a court appearance. 

On April 5 at 2:37 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police Avondale responded to a crash on Saginaw Road, south of Hollow Rock Road in New London Township. They discovered that the driver, Ryan Thomas Maynes, 23, of Lincoln University, had driven off the road and struck a fence. He was arrested for DUI and released to his father pending a court appearance.
