ASSAULT CHARGES

On March 5 at 1:17 a.m., New Garden Township police responded to the 100 block of Landenberg Road for a report of a fight between a man and woman. A witness at the scene said that Manuel Arevalo-Morales, 21, of Landenberg, had broken a window to get into the apartment and taken a woman away with him in his car. The witness called police again at 2:24 a.m. to say that Arevalo-Morales and the victim had returned to the apartment. The victim said that during an argument, Arevalo-Morales grabbed her neck, took the keys to her car and put her in the back seat, driving away with the door open and her legs outside the car. He repeatedly tried to push her out of the car. He was located and arrested without incident. He was charged with simple assault and related charges, and taken to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail.

BURGLARY

A home at 2199 Gap-Newport Pike in Parkesburg was burglarized on March 13 at about 11:30 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Stolen were a stainless steel sink, a window air conditioner, refrigerator, washing machine and a wrought-iron railing. A gray van with a sliding side door with a window in it was seen at the home during this crime. Anyone with information is asked to call trooper Mantione at 610-268-2022.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Kennett Square police cited Sean Magowan, 24, of West Chester, and Stephen Schroth, 24, of Kennett Square, for disorderly conduct after an incident on March 1 at 1:30 a.m. in the 200 block of East State Street.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

Kennett Square police arrested Marcel Chevalier, 43, of Las Vegas, Nev., on March 1 after he refused to leave a home in the 200 block of South Union Street. Chevalier also called 911 and reported that police officers had threatened to kill him, and he threatened another person. He was charged with criminal trespass, making false reports and making threats. He was unable to post bail of $7,500 and was taken to Chester County Prison.

BURGLARY

A vacant home in the 1300 block of Flint Hill Road in Franklin Township was entered through a sliding glass door sometime between March 8 and 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. Anyone with information is asked to call trooper Revels at 610-268-2022.

BUSINESSES HIT BY GRAFFITI

The Aurora Pizza and Pack-N-Ship businesses at 27 Jenners Pond Rd., Jennersville, were vandalized with graffiti on March 14 between 7:30 and 8 p.m., according to a report from Pennsylvania State Police Avondale. 

 DUI

New Garden police arrested Raul Flores-Flores, 51, of Newark, Del., on March 9 after his Ford minivan was seen driving off the roadway in the 8900 block of Gap Newport Pike and then veering toward the center double lines, close to oncoming traffic. He showed signs of impairment and he was taken into custody and charged with DUI. He was released pending a summons from District Court.

Kennett Square police arrested John Preston, 54, of Cochranville, for DUI after a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Garfield Street on March 28 at 2 a.m. He was released at his home pending a summons from District Court.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Norberto Torres, 42, of Oxford, for DUI after responding to a car crash at 100 Fisher Road in West Nottingham Township on March 12. He was released to his wife pending a summons in District Court.

Pennsylvania State Police Avondale arrested Tamika Renee Butcher, 30, of Kennett Square, for DUI after she was involved in a crash at 572 Unionville Road in East Marlborough Township on March 15.
