KMC boys gymnastics team earns another victory

The KMC boys Gymnastics Team competed in their last regular season meet where they were led to victory by Collin Cunane, Kieran Clark, Andrew Overman, and Matthew Bunke. The boys competed with more than 300 gymnasts, from 15 teams and seven states around the region.  KMC’s levels 6 and 8 won the team competitions; level 10 placed fourth.

Complete results are described below.

Level 10 

In the 15-and 16-year old age group, Bunke won rings and earned third in all-around. He won second on vault and high bar and was fourth on pommel horse and parallel bars.  Brendan McBride earned sixth on floor.  In the 17-and 18-year-old age group, Isaiah Cooper received fifth on rings and sixth on floor and vault.

Level 8

For the 11- and 12-year old age group, Cunane won all-around, rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar. He took home sixth on pommel horse.  Kieran Murdocca placed fifth in AA and high bar; he received fourth place on floor, sixth place on rings. Liam Bachman earned second on floor and rings; as well as third on vault and fourth on parallel bars.

Level 6 

The level six team was able to win the team competition without Charlie Fultz and Kyle Walchuk.  The dynamic duo of Clark and Overman once again took the top two spots in the all-around for the 11-and-older age group.  Clark took first in all-around, floor, pommel horse, and parallel bars. He placed fifth on high bar. Overman won high bar and received second place in all-around and floor. He was fourth on pommel horse and parallel bars. Gunar Daniels took home sixth in all-around; with fourth on high bar and fifth on floor. 

Level 5 

In the 11-and-over age group, TJ Langdon received third place on pommel horse.

Level 4

Cris Ilis competed in the 6-year-old age group where he won third place on floor, rings, and parallel bars.  

KMC Gymnastics is located at 912 W. Cypress St. in Kennett Square.  The gym is run and owned by Karen Myers. The boys are coached by Victor Kolesnikov, Jerry Fix, Brian Narvaez and Dave Hirst. The boys will compete for the state team trophy on March 22 and 23 in Lebanon, Pa.
