KMC’s Boys Level 6 wins seventh team title

The KMC boys gymnastics team competed in what could be the last Philadelphia Boys Invitational on Feb. 14, and the Level 6 team won the seventh team title in a row.  Kieran Clark, Andrew Overman and Kyle Walchuk led the team to victory by finishing first, second, and second in the all-around of their respective age groups.  The level 8 team won their fifth team title for the season, the team was led by Kieran Murdocca and Collin Cunane.  Forty-three teams and over 600 gymnasts competed over the weekend.

Level 4  

Cris Ilis competed in the 6-year-old age group where he placed fourth on floor, third on rings and vault and sixth on all-around.  In the 7-and-8 year old age group, Spencer Biggs won third place on vault.  

Level 5    

In the 11-and-over age group, TJ Langdon did it again by winning first on pommel horse. He was second place all-around, fourth place on high bar, sixth place on floor and tied for sixth place on parallel bars. Thomas Casey was standing across the podium from TJ in third place all-around.  Thomas won first place on vault with one of the best vaults seen in the state. Thomas also placed third on floor and parallel bars, fourth on rings and sixth on high bar.  

Level 6 

In the 8-and-under age group, Kyle Walchuk won first on pommel horse and parallel bars and tied for first on floor. He took second in the all-around, rings, and high bar and tied for second on vault.  Charlie Fultz participated in the 9- and10-year old age group, where he was third on parallel bars and tied for fourth on vault. Once again, KMC threw the one-two punch in the 11-and-older age group, with Kieran Clark wining first place all-around and Andrew Overman taking second.  Kieran took home first on all six events with a great performance in all areas.  Andrew was second on floor and high bar; he was third on pommel horse, tied for third on vault and placed sixth on parallel bars.  Gunar Daniels tied for third on vault, placed fourth on parallel bars and tied for fourth on floor.

Level 8

Kieran Murdocca, Collin Cunane, and Liam Bachman competed within the 11- and12-year-old age group where KMC took the top two spots in the all-around with Kieran taking first and Collin taking second.  Kieran won first pommel horse, took second on rings and high bar, and fourth on floor. Collin won high bar and parallel bars and tied for first on vault. He was also third on rings. Liam finished fifth in the all-around, second on parallel bars, and tied for third on vault and fourth on floor.

Level 9

Devin Trinter competed in the 13- and14-year-old age group where he won third on rings, fifth on floor and sixth on pommel horse.

Level 10  

In the 15- and 16-year old age group, Matt Bunke placed sixth in the all-around, third on high bar, fourth on pommel and tied for sixth on rings. Paul Giannoukos was fifth on vault.  Garrett Enslen won sixth on floor. In the 17- and 18-year-old group, Valentino Succarotte tied for third place on vault.

KMC Gymnastics is located at 912 W. Cypress St. in Kennett Square. The gym is run and owned by Karen Myers. The boys team is coached by Victor Kolesnikov, Jerry Fix, Brian Narvaez, and Dave Hirst.
