Thresholds of Chester County seeks volunteers

03/05/2014 03:46PM ● By Acl

Thresholds of Chester County is seeking volunteers to teach decision-making skills to men and women at the Chester County Prison in Pocopson.

Volunteers attend a full-day training and give about two hours each week during one (or all) of the eight-week teaching cycles, which occur three times a year. Upon completion of the training program, volunteers decide whether they want to teach the program or not. There is no obligation.

The next training will be held on March 22 at the Chester County Government Services Center (601 Westtown Rd., Room 171, West Chester) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with lunch included.

For more than 30 years, Thresholds volunteers have been teaching people how to become more independent and self-sufficient. Upon completion of the program, participants are better equipped to make decisions that will postively affect their lives.

For information or to register for training, e-mail Amber Campman at [email protected], or call 484-876-1816.
